These collars are meant to be worn in the same fashion as they were during the Renaissance, upon a covered neck. Same is true with the available matching cuffs.
During the Renaissance, collars and cuffs were not made "one size fits all" ... they were made to order. Hence, one of the many reasons so many pieces of jewelry were disassembled and reassembled into new pieces. In my attempt to stay period-correct, these collars and cuffs are made-to-fit one person ... so, be sure to either email us your neck size or include it in the “Special Instructions” box when checking out through PayPal.
